A Lost Thing

A back alley in the morning in Japan.
There lay lost things that didn’t make it through the night.

Heart forgotten, today again the dazzling Sun will shine on the town and its people.

It wasn't violent but I took it, a layer.

Deposited carefully, quarantined in a square, a square is the most efficient natural

We are all influenced by our external surroundings, this makes us into the individuals we are today. This environmental influence can create a mask to hide our authentic selves.

What does a grate see?

The 26 Eyes

Limerick School of Art and Design has 26 hidden eyes, watching and observing from different perspectives since 1848. The eyes remain hidden often for months only noticed when highlighted, features that keep breathing day in day out. At first glance they look ordinary in a Magnolia coat, but if you peer closer the details in each eye stand out, blinking against the sun. When it rains their tears flow freely.

Looking and listening, at first to sounds of washing, praying, crying, screaming, ironing, whispering and cutting. These sounds faded and new ones replaced them, sounds of laughter, making, cameras, technology, singing, and chatting. With a caring gaze they noticed that there were always young women coming and going.

The eyes watched years slip by, faces turning old and disappearing, but new faces always emerged while the eyes kept breathing, their tears flowing freely.
